Ordered item substituted for one on offer.

I ordered a motorcycle helmet from Lids Direct for £49.99. It came with a free bag and cleaning kit. However, the item they took payment for was apparently not in stock at the supplier, so suggested another colour. While I was away camping I received a voicemail saying they were sending a different model, the 'next one up' because their supplier messed them around. This model is on offer on their website for £34.99, but does not come with the freebies.

When I asked for a partial refund of £15 they refused, saying that they could not do both the cheaper prices and the freebies. What should I do?

(PS I'm happy with the substituted item, despite it taking longer to deliver)

So you paid £50 for a helmet with 2 freebies.
Then you received a £35 helmet with no freebies.

    Is the above correct ?

If so, I would certainly return it, as they are clearly taking the mickey.

Ahh no, they still sent the freebies (which to be honest, I don't really want or need).

Then it's easy? Reject the lot, send back, and buy the one on offer.

Or tell them you'll return the freebies and want a refund.

Reject it, and perhaps spend a little more money on sonething that could save your life!

I would not let my OH out on his motorbike with something like that on his head!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

It's the safety standard that's important Pinkshoes, not the price.
