Did a whole load of charity shops for REACT. Slightly miffed to find they're not reimbursing all of my required purchases, the limit was £5 (2 of the stores I visited were well under this). But one store I went into had a discrepancy at the till and so I was required to go back and make another purchase 30 mins later. Seems they have decided not to fully reimburse this, as it would take me over their £5 limit for the 1 shop. Seems pretty tight to me. Any advice? I shall be wary of doing any more of these if this is the case, as I have t donate items at my own cost as well.

    Payslip says;

    17/12/2014 Sue Ryder W****n£ 12.00

I think I am due this amounts, including the fees for doing these shops.

    17/12/2014 REACT Charity Shop MS W****n £15.90

Honestly, just email them via the contact link. I've had an issue or two in the past which was just an oversight on their part and they've rectified it. I find them really good.

Must admit not picked up many React charity shops as I keep pondering the tax implications and think the scenario screams MS.

You basically end up purchasing an item which you then re-donate back to the Charity shop and then pay tax on the fee + cost of the item. The tax man will see the combined amount hitting your account and liable for the tax (less expenses) for an item you know longer own.

Can you offset the cost of the item as an expense and deduct that. I would be interested what others thought as React seem to be focussing on this sector for alot of jobs.

    Anybody out there still working....

I am just doing the odd job which is easy to do and not involving trecking into retail parks or large shopping centres.

Filling in my'spare time' joining new agencies for the New Year, submitting my self assessment form and strangely enough getting a regular load of surveys from Pinecone - seven in the last week. (Thought they sacked me as not received anything for months).

I am absolutely flat-out picking up bonus jobs that pay massive premiums. Best month ever!

    Bring it on!

I think they suggest you re-donate it, but I often find things I want/ need and keep them. I'm an avid charity shopper anyway! I mean, surely you're donating stuff to them anyway often as part of these scenarios, so you're entitled to keep something!

In responding to their emails, I've noticed that these are actually not REACT jobs but another company I work for (who is known for doing charity shops). I generally find them the most reliable of all the companies I work for, so hopefully they will reimburse me fully.

I don't think your right here with the senario. I donated something of my own which I was going to give to charity anyway. Stayed in the ( very busy) shop for 15 minutes, which was easy to do. I do t think I looked like a MSer, many other people stayed longer. Made a purchase and kept it.

GFK seem desperate, the raduis from my post code seems to grow each time they upload either the banks or cars.

I won't do these jobs because the scenario SHOUTS Mystery Shopper - and the fee is pathetic.

My "Visits Available page" now includes a cluster of 3 dozen jobs about 150-180 miles away.

    They must be getting desparate!

The scenario do differ on these charity jobs. I did two where you had to make a purchase using precise money and then return again within 30 minutes to make another purchase using precise money. You had to make purchase with a particular code on them. The brief suggests you return the item later. There was nothing 'decent' with the said codes so really there is no other option but return it and hence the tax question I raised about not having the item at the end of the day.

I also have hundreds on my site. Given you'd only be credible doing your local bank it seems a bit odd. And I never do car ones but you can only select out one at a time so I wait and wait and let them disappear.

Oh my lord just logged in 😞

There are several scenarios across a few clients.
