Additional question to those above on the ESA telcos...
Setting aside the terrible terminology in the brief (I'm guessing 'collection day' and 'collection time' are actually when they want me to do it) does anyone have any pointers on how to do an instore visit after 6pm - when all the shops in this town shut at 5.30pm? Also, I have been assigned an instore visit for a well-known telco which sticks a dish on your house - a company not known for having any stores.
As usual, pointless trying to get a response from the MSco on these issues.0 -

This is becoming a right old mess...
I have done a call to the number suggested to be advised the number is no longer in use and to go to their website to get the right number. Which I did to find they don't operate the number at weekends only 9-630 during the week. (Brief advises to ring at weekends) Better pay me for this run around. I did wonder when they sent out the questionnaire asking for interest as there is another supplier on the list who does not have shops either..0 -

I got the same 'instore 'visit after 6pm. I called ESA and they confirmed that I could visit the store any time. Re the well known telco with dishes, I visited our local stand (same as from GFK). HTH0 -
I'm really getting fed up with these ESA jobs. I had four to do today. One of them required me to contact a phone tele company via a web contact form when no web contact form exists. Another one required me to contact them after 6pm when they close 5:30pm. And the other company's web contact address doesn't work and takes me to a 404 error page. So I only managed one out of the four with no hitches.
It's so frustrating as I spent time reading through all the notes and partially filling out the forms on all of these which I doubt I will get paid for now.
These are the first jobs i've done for ESA and will probably be the last if this is what they're like as it's just not worth my time.0 -
Your last line sums up most of their jobs0

Would agree with that sentiment. Their rates have been going south for the last year and seem to have lost loads of clients. Can't remember last time the Kerry Katona jobs were on the board. These telco jobs seem a complete shambles and suggest a company in trouble.0 -
When I was MSing more often I used to do loads of ESA and TNS jobs but based on what they offer now, both in assignments and fees it is very much downhill.0

If you've recently done anything for Coyle, can I recommend you take a very careful look at the payments you have received. Two of my recent jobs were paid incorrectly owing to 'errors' with exchange rates. In one case I was paid a quantity of Euros which should have been the same quantity of Pounds. And last week I had a long and frustrating discussion with their accounts bod about why a £30 expense would not be covered by a reimbursement of $31.60 (they were adding the exchange rate, rather than multiplying by it). Given the size of some of their jobs, these discrepancies (if left unchecked) could leave someone £100s short.0

Good evening.
Can I ask those with experience of sending goods back to buy back companies what sort of fees are usually offered for the (not insubstantial) work involved in arranging a courier's pick-up, packaging, posting, tracking etc when this was not included in the initial brief.
I am about to kick up a fuss, but before I do I just want to understand whether what I have been offered (£2 a parcel plus packaging costs) is 'usual.' It seems far too little to to me.
Thanks in anticipation.arghhh!!!0 -
We talking fees now?
Seriously? It's a 10 minute job - why worry? The brief said they may need to return the item.Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?0
