Does anyone know which company does Telephone mystery shopping. If so who and what are payments like. Found on Performance in People website they do. Does anyone do telephone mystery shopping?

Do you mean shopping for telephones? Ie mobile phone retailers, or by telephone? Ie calling people up and asking them stuff? Both are done by a variety of companies - but the latter tends to pay very badly and isn't really worth getting in to if you don't do visits as well, IMO.

Tern are fabulous! So professional, tell you your errors and where you can better yourself and pay within days! Probably the top MS company if there was a list?

Call payments can be quite low, but if they only take five minutes, you can knock them out quite quickly. PIP offered me a role last week and waiting to do the training. Not going get rich on it but useful infill and less hassle then doing the low end MF and RA work IMHO

Agree - pity they don't offer out more work as you cant keep redoing their opticians due to the CCTV review they do against your report so limits when you can do a revisit.

Has anyone actually had any work off cosine or are they just playing the old agency game of "hello clients, we have this many people on our books with all these skills"
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?

I don't use them mate, they are PAYE for the vast majority of their work and the pay isn't all that hot either. Check out their Twitter feed for jobs.

Exasperated isn't a strong enough word for this.

Years ago I did some car circuits for a European company that does something in the woods. I always had success with them and managed to knock them down and get a final discounted price.

I am now doing car circuits for a different company where two visits to the same dealership are involved. To be honest, I'm finding it difficult to even get through the first visit. Both dealerships wouldn't entertain negotiations unless a test drive was booked and taken. Even getting the list price plus extras was like pulling hens teeth.

My brief says not to take a test drive but sound interested in it and find out when I can have one. This is where the problem lies. I have to return to these dealerships next week and ask for a discount. Brilliant. They're going to bang on about the test drive again before they'll negotiate. I don't know what to do. I can tell you what I felt like doing to the salesmen but I would have been arrested.

Has anyone else come across this, and if so, how do you overcome it?
  • Much the same as you regarding the other ms co.

However the main dealership for the circuit I did, would not give me a price. I had to restart the visit (instructed to do so by the ms co) & after several failed attempts - apparently I could only deal with the sales person I originally spoke to - I was told to give it up as a bad job & I received payment for the other two visits as a goodwill gesture.

Then to add insult to injury the salesperson actually contacted me between Christmas & New Year to see if I still wanted to buy the car! I said no, I had gone elsewhere as they had given me a price - sorry you lost out on your commission (I lost out on my fee, 100 miles travel & several hours of my life!).

    Never again!

    Best of luck.
