There are lots of exceptions of which no doubt the employers will be covered byDon't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -
It does suck, my hubby also has a split shift. Which is, in my opinion, ok IF they let you know that you are required to do a split shift when you take the job on.
His was sprung on him after some 8ish months of working there. He knows it is standard in a catering industry so he shuts up and deals with it. Doesn't mean its lovely or fair.
His hours are more or less. 10-3 6-finish (around midnight)
He doesn't want to spend the whole day at work, plus what would he do there for 3 hours that he has free?
Instead he goes home and back in. Doubles his travel time, lessens the awake time at home even more. Sucks.
But nothing he can do about it other than quit.0 -
leave and find I better job, the workhouses closed years ago, having you come in for 2 hours then go home is taking the :easter: , make sure you drop your employer in it when you do leave as they deserve no better.0

OP, is this a job that you have just started or have you been doing it for a while and your boss is changing the hours? If the latter I think they are taking the p155 but there's probably nothing you can do about it apart from look for another job.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0
