Consumer rights question regarding a dress

Hello
Hoping someone knowledgable can help with a consumer query
On Monday I was looking at dresses online and saw one that I liked from Warehouse in the sale for £35, among many others.
After work I went to the nearest Warehouse store to buy the dress, but it was the full price of £60. I could have sworn that it had been in the sale but thought I must have got mixed up with another dress and bought it at £60 as it was required for that night.
Today was having another look online and the dress sure enough is in the sale at £35.
My question is, was it a mistake that the shop sold this same dress for the full price when it is at a sale price online?
I have already worn the dress now so was wondering where I would stand with this situation? If I took the receipt back is there any chance of them refunding the excess or should I not bother

Shops often have different prices in store to online, as they aren't run as the same business.
If you're that desperate for the £25 you could order online for £35 and then return the new dress with the old £60 receipt for a refund. I'd probably just make sure I got £60 worth of wear out if it!Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
Hi notanewuser. Thanks for the advice thats good to know. And not wanting to seem like a cheapskate but that is a brilliant idea! If I can get it for half price (ish) might as well

I might not work. Sometimes they have intelligent tags, so they'll know the dress came from online, not instore.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

Or because it's in the sale, they put a great big orange blob on the label, so it'll be obvious it's not the same dress being returned.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
You agreed the price of £60 at the time of purchase which is when you should have queried it.
There is no legal requirement for a shop to refund on a non faulty product, so buying on line and trying to return the unwanted dress to the shop may mean you are left with 2 identical dresses. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
