Bathroom tap handle problem

Hi

I have a Victorian-style cross-handle bathroom tap. The handle is turning less and less, so less water is coming out.

Is this something I can repair or does it need replacing?

Thanks.

Sounds like the washer has disintegrated blocking up the ways and restricting the tap movement. Pretty simple to change.

  • Thanks. I should say that the tap isn't dripping - it's just that it doesn't 'open up' as much any more.

Take it apart, remove the headgear. Give the moving parts a good clean and a coating of new silicone grease, new washer on the end, put it all back together - job done.
