Help with word

I am trying to fill out an application form

It is in Word and has tables. I can type on the top line of the table but when I press enter the cursor goes down about 4 lines and the table gets bigger. I have tried just pressing the space bar to get to the next line but it just goes off the page and disappears. I have also checked the line spacing.

Please help I really want to apply for this job. Its says to email no option to print and send in post :(

Try simply using your mouse to click the cursor into each cell in turn.

Or, if you mean you're trying to put multiple lines into one cell, try holding down the shift key when you press return.

Have you checked the settings in the table? Click on the table icon and check the line spacing etc is right.

Short of that, you might be better off in Excel?

Ah the shift key thank you. I knew there was a key that did that but thought it was the ctrl - no wonder it didn't worked when I tried it!

    Thanks again

(I like to fill out on line applications neatly as I think it shows good word skills, my hope is that mine will look better than someone who maybe isn't quite so good in word )
