Should I open account in local bank or in nearby city centre

I'm looking for a new bank account following a separation from my husband. There are a limited number of banks available where I live. Having checked out MSE advice on good accounts should I settle for a bank where I live ( and work) or one in the city centre which is a 20 min bus ride away and where I'll have more to choose from.

Shouldn't matter in this day and age, if you have online banking, which essentially any bank or BS is offering these days.0

Why do you need a high street bank at all? With online and telephone banking, coupled with ATMs on practically every corner, there's little need to walk into your bank. Sure, I do walk into a bank if there's one available as I prefer the inside ATMs, but I never use my own as I find it too small and squashed compared to the spaciousness of some of the other banks.0
