hsbc time scales

filled in a hsbc form and sent off nine weeks ago. It was signed for at their end (although the signature on royal mail website is illegible)
still received no response at all. Anyone any idea of how long they are taking? website says 8 weeks. quite annoyed they appear to be ignoring me

Normally an aknowledgement is sent within 2 weeks and then sometimes a further letter sometimes referred to as a holding letter after 4 weeks if no decision has been made. As you do not seem to have received any of these and it is now 9 weeks I would be ringing them up to get an update. I don't have any experience of dealing with HSBC but I think the process is pretty much the same across the board. Definately worth a phone call or email. There maybe contact details on their website. Good luck.

very frustrating to wait so long. I'm also highly dubious if they say they didn't get it. For instance I've never had any correspondence from their direction go missing.

I know it is frustrating and can sympathise.

Take a look at this link from the FOS website, it has a telephone number for HSBC PPI complaints.

    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/contact/PPI.html

Given them a call to see what's happening.

I wouldnt refer to FOS just yet as according to other threads on here you could be waiting upto 18 months if not longer. A quick phone call to HSBC may just put your mind at rest for the timebeing.

called this morning they said they had some more questions. which seemed to be the same as the questions on the form I sent back to them.

They will be in touch. not massively hopefull to be honest the loan was from 10 years ago.

At least you know they have your form now. Hopefully it will be a positive outcome for you. Give them a bit more time but also ring for updates if you feel it's necessary. Good luck.
