Help and advice of benefits, please!

Looking for some good advice, regarding benefits. Never claimed benefits before apart from CTC.
I have been ill for 4 years but have not claimed any benefits, because i cannot get a diagnosis. From reading on here i have been foolish and should of, but also never wanted to admit that i am disabled.
Recently i have had a baby, who was born with a serious heart defect, and needs 24 hour care. Partner has had to give up work, due to the fact that between myself and new baby, other children and house etc. Was unable to carry on as we was.
Partner claimed Job-seekers.
Was told to Claim disability for baby, which we have but could not get it until 3 months of age.
Have claimed for carers allowance, but this has been allowed but not entitled to any money, due to being on JSA.
Should my partner change to another benefit? Would he be better off on another benefit?
What is the point of applying for carers allowance if you do not receive it. Thank You all in advance.

Your partner shouldn't really be claiming JSA as he isn't looking for work but there's no reason why you can't claim CA.0 -

You do NOT need a diagnoses to claim PIP. I too made this mistake, i only recently found this out. I wish i'd known years ago too.
PIP is based on your personal care and mobility needs. Apply now, if you need help with the forms go to the CAB. My council have benefits advisors, i had one come to my home. She is awesome and has helped with all my claims for the different benefits and has helped with appeals paperwork.
I cant help on the other benefits I'm afraid, someone else will be able to offer advice though.
I wish your baby future good health.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
:T than themselves - you know who you are!:T0
