Conservatory roof cleaning

Hi all,

Im looking for advise on cleaning my conservatory roof. We have two large overhanging trees which seem to have 'strained' the roof.

Is there some sort of special chemical or cleaning product I can use to get this off without damaging the roof? (It's a plastic roof). Elbow grease and a hard yard brush doesn't seem to shift it!

Thanks

By "power washer" do you mean a pressure washer, like a karcher?

Pressure washer by Karcher will do miracles. Get one with a brush to connect to. I'm sure you can rent one for one day.

...and I should just use water? Or is there something I could spray on the roof before hand? I'm not sure if its pollen or something but it seems pretty heavily stained and stuck on when I went up the ladder the other day.

Sorted and looks like-new again after just half an hour! :)

This is what I did in the end: I borrowed my neighbour's Karcher (as he had bought an extra long hose with it - I don't think it would have been possible or safe with the regular length hose). I then hired conservatory roof ladder (http://www.nationaltoolhireshops.co.uk/product/conservatory-roof-ladder-for-hire/) and gave it a good blasting with the karcher. That took a lot of the dirt and loose bits off. It didn't get rid of the pollen stain though, which was mainly on one side directly under the tree.

So I got some regular 'dish scrubber things' (http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=275560756) and a bottle of 'Cilit Bang' and worked my way across the roof. This removed the pollen no problem and didn't damage the roof at all. I didnt let the Cilit Bang soak or anything I just sprayed on and then started scrubbing in circular motions. One thing to note here; wear a dust mask or something similar because I found the Cilit Bang got on my chest a little bit to begin with.

I was shocked when I came down the ladder and walked inside the conservatory as the amount of extra light coming through has made a huge difference!

The wife was a bit worried about me going up the ladder but it was pretty stable. I just need to buy her a new bottle of Cilit Bang and some new dish scrubbers haha

    Job done :)
