claiming on Anolon / Meyer lifetime warranty

About five years ago I bought a fairly expensive Raymond Blanc edition Anolon "skillet" frying pan. It has a good thick copper sandwich base and has worked well on my ceramic hob. Now the non-stick is coming off more and more each time I use it. I've seen it has lifetime guarantee stamped on the base, has anyone had any luck with them replacing pans under the guarantee? It is heavy, sending it back will cost £5, but given the pan probably cost £35 it is worth the punt I think.
I'm thinking maybe expensive pans aren't worth it, as the non-stick never lasts very long, over 5 years you might be better off with buying a new £10 pan every other year!

Have you contacted them?
I had a pepper mill from TG Woodware with a lifetime guarantee. It broke and I contacted them. They sent me a return label and I returned it to them for free. A couple of days later a replacement arrived. Top service. A firm like Meyer should offer similar.
As an aside buy a cast iron frying pan/skillet (not enamelled cast iron) After conditioning and use they become non-stick and will last a lifetime. Just require an occasional scrubbing and reconditioning to restore the non stick surface. Been using mine for over 20 years now.0 -
I have contacted them attaching photos. They want to inspect it but they won't pay postage. I'll repost with my progress.
Anything cast iron would scratch my ceramic hob I think. A friend has a cast iron steak pan, & the hob looks like an ice rink!

Finally they have replied, saying that the pan "showed signs of overheating". I don't agree with that, given I have used it carefully on a halogen hob on which it is not easy to overheat anything. I will take any guarantees like this with a pinch of salt in future.
