    Hello again,

I've not had any response from Excel Parking since my last post *touches wood*. However, I was curious about my credit rating and when i looked in to this, I can see that Excel Parking searched for information on my credit report in July 2013. I was just wondering, are they entitled to do this? It clearly says that all searches should be done with my consent but i don't remember giving permission for this. Just a bit curious...

    Ta,

I suggest that what they were doing was a "trace" to see if you were at the same address as you were when the PCN's were issued. They aren't permitted to carry out a further DVLA check so they have reverted to the only other information source available to them.

Check with fermi - as mentioned by stroma - but you may well be able to discover what type of search Excel carried out by contacting Experian for example.

Besides a standard trace I just wonder whether what Excel did was to use some of the information to profile you?
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com
