  • Ooops. NSD turned into a £10.27 spend as me and hubby got the munchies last night so quick trip to shop later...! Definitely not spending any money today. That's one of the reason's I never keep cash in my wallet as it just leaks like water. I am normally more strict about using my card, so don't tend to use it wily-nily unless I have to.

Have family visiting today for my birthday so that will be nice. They're staying for some lunch but have loads in and will be doing sandwiches and soup.

Otherwise, a boring weekend of housework, washing and sorting out. The joys of being an adult!

  • So much for the heatwave we were predicted this weekend. It's been completely miserable. Managed to get a load of washing mosty dried before the rain so put it on indoors airer to finish off.

Today is mostly going to be spent relaxing as I did all the housework yesterday and cleared all the washing in the basket. Just need to put the clothes away once they have finished drying and do my usual swish of the kitchen and living room to keep it looking nice.

Need to get some more bread and milk later so it won't be a NSD sadly, but that will be ALL I am buying after the naughty splurge on Friday night! Dinner will be from the meal planner, although I have switched a couple of the days around. Just need to do my next online shop for delivery after the weekend. Next weeks dinners have all been planned and the online shop is almost done, so it's only a case of checking we don't need anything else and placing the order.

I swear every day feels like it's the same at the moment!

Oops, haven't checked in for a couple of days.

Had my weekly food delivery this morning, so fridge, cupboards and freezer are stocked up for the week and all meals planned. I'm having a crack at making some homemade mini salmon en-croutes for dinner tonight. I normally buy them pre-made and just cook from frozen, but they had salmon on half price so I figured they can't be that difficult to make yourself. Half a side of salmon was £6.00 for 500g whereas the fillets were £4.00 for 220g and the pre-made en-croutes are also £4.00. No brainer really so will freeze the rest of the salmon and use in another dish next week :)

House is still tidy from the weekend (have been doing my own version of flylady) although it could do with hoovering and polishing later on when DS is awake from his nap. 1 load of washing to do but it's finally sunny so should get it out on the line any dry in a couple of hours.

    Other things for the day:-

[STRIKE]NSD (food shop not counted as out of grocery budget)[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]1 load of washing[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Dry washing outdoors & put everything away[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]All meals from planner[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Staying in, so no petrol used. Will take DS out for a walk in the pushchair later so we get some fresh air[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Check online banking and update YNAB[/STRIKE]
    Hoover and polish
    [STRIKE]Make en-croutes[/STRIKE]
Sort out 2 cheques to bank tomorrow
[STRIKE]Sort out work clothes for tomorrow[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Pack DS bag for childminder tomorrow[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Bring bin back in from collection this morning[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Update signature with new shopping/NSD totals[/STRIKE]

Think that will keep me going for now!

  • I never did get round to hoovering and polishing yesterday, so that's still on the list of things to do. I hate hoovering so normally get DH to do it for me.

Not popping into the office today now either so will have to bank my cheques next week. They aren't urgent so it can wait another few days.

Making something in the slow cooker again today. Not quite sure what it will be...some kind of chickeny, tomatoey thing with some herbs and stuff. Bit of an experiment but have some peppers and chicken to use up so may as well just bung it all in and see how it turns out! At home all day today though, so the smell will probably torture me (and the cat).

Moved another £10 into my emergency fund yesterday after tidying up my YNAB page and checking my bank accounts. Hoping I will have another £30 to move before payday, but that's a long way away yet so will leave it until it's closer to month end so I don't over stretch myself. It's nice to see my various savings pots grow, but we have some biggish expensives due in the next few months so they will go down again (moving house, car MOT, maternity leave again). Still, that's what I have the savings pots for, so at least I do have the money allocated! Just need to build up a proper emergency fund as that is pretty lacking at the mo.

    Happy hump day everyone

Just realised I haven't added a plan for today. I love having lists as it helps me to be more accountable and stops me from forgetting things I said I would do!

    [STRIKE]NSD[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]All meals from planner[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Slow cooker dinner[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Check online bank account and update YNAB[/STRIKE]
    Hoover and polish
[STRIKE]Make the bed (Normally done as soon as we're up but DH left early for a work course and I was already downstairs with DS)[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Pick up prescription from surgery (DH picking up on way home from work)[/STRIKE]
Work out what to buy DS for his bday (will order from Amazon probably)
    [STRIKE]Book midwife appointment[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Staying in so no petrol used[/STRIKE]
