Thanks anyway Tallulah. I will probably put a post on the main DFW board as someone is bound to have one. Thanks for reading my drivel too!

The weekend been and gone, and my husband is finally back to work today after having 3 weeks off out of the last 4 weeks. I love spending more time with him, but am always relieved when he's back at work too, as it throws my routine out of the window. He always makes so much more mess too so lots more tidying up to do.

My weekend was productive though and did everything I needed to apart from put up the post for a baby crib. I have loads of time to do that though, so may save it for the weekend again when I can also list for sale all the old baby things we know we won't be using for baby 2.

    Plans for today are:

Check online banking and update YNAB (done)
Post asking if anyone has a referral code for YNAB (done)
All meals from menu planner. DH cooking tonight but need to get stuff out the freezer for him (done)
    More washing...it never ends! (done)
Organise things for work tomorrow and pack DS bag for childminder (done)
Do online food shop ready to order on payday on Friday
Sort out docs to take to bank to open new savings account

Think that'll do for now. I'm bound to come up with something else.

Have a good day everyone...hope it's not as miserable weather wise as it it here!

Can't believe the weekend is almost here again.

Working from home today so saving on petrol which is always good.

I am feeling in a bit of a nesting mood so am going to have a major sort out this weekend. Get rid of a load of things we don't need and post up all the unwanted baby bits on the local selling sites to clear out some space. We are hopefully moving house in the next 6 months so want to declutter some junk and make moving easier and less to pack. No point packing junk to take to a new house is there!

    Plans for today are:

All meals from menu planner...chicken kievs for tea (Done)
Check online banking and update YNAB (Done)
Sweep over any remaining money from bank account to savings account...payday tomorrow thankfully (Done)
Do final load of washing in basket. Weather is terrible again but hopefully will it dry before it rains (Done)
Wash bedding and get out on line (Done)
Fold clean clothes from airer and put away (Done)
NSD. Staying in as working from home so no chance to spend (Failed. Had to nip out for fruit 7 bread for DS lunch)
Finalise food shop ready to place order on payday tomorrow
Still need to sort docs to take to bank on Saturday

Think that will do. I am going to have to fit this all in around working and sorting my son out. Just done breakfast so off to stick the washing in and log on to work comp.

No rain yet, although it's in the air so sure it will come at some point today. Managed to get my last load of washing dried in 2 hours though as it's quite windy here and got all the bedding out now. Hopefully that will also dry before this rain appears. There's no nicer feeling that seeing an empty washing basket and having fresh, clean, line-dried bedding on the bed :)

DH is cooking tea tonight and it's off the planner, so don't need to worry about that. He's not the best cook in the world as he doesn't really enjoy cooking, but he can't really go wrong cooking chicken kievs!

Had to spend some money afterwards though as it got to lunchtime and I realised I had ran out of fruit and didn't have enough bread to make us all a sandwich. Came out of shopping budget though, so not too bad.

Sometimes it feels like there just aren't enough hours in the day to get everything done.

  • Bedding came off the line about 20 mins ago, all lovely and fresh smelling and the heavens have just opened. Clearly someone up there liked me today!

Now just need to persuade DH to put all the clean bedding back on the bed when he gets back from work haha. I hate making beds with a passion.

Feel like I've done loads today which is great as I have also done a load of sorting out and organising which I hadn't planned on. Think I'll have a nice warm bubble bath tonight and get into bed with a hot chocolate and a film :)

  • Another week gone by. This year is just flying by.

House is all tidy, washing is all up to date bar one load ready to go first thing in the morning and meals are all planned for the weekend. It feels like I don't have much to do this weekend which is really odd for me, but I'm sure I can conjure up some stuff to do from somewhere!

Finally payday today which means I can pay some bills and make another loan payment. Only 8 more to go until it's gone for good and that is my last debt. I am not planning on having any more debt beyond a mortgage when we have finally saved enough for a deposit.

  • Having a nice lazy day today and it feels good :)

I have done a load of washing just to empty the basket and it's now drying on the line. Looking a bit grey overhead though so hopefully it will dry before any rain appears. Housework is done, so me and DH are just chilling out for a change.

Finally done my food shop. Am trying a different tactic this month and switching from a big monthly online shop with top-ups to a weekly shop and only buying what I need for the weekly menu planner. Decided to pay and sign up to the one-off annual delivery cost with Mr T so I can have unlimited weekly shops delivered. It cost £30 for the year, but I normally spend £4.00-£6.00 a month anyway on delivery charges so should save me £18-£42 for the year.

Just need to purcahse the full package of YNAB now as I only have a couple of weeks left on the trial.

  • YNAB purchased yesterday but it didn't give me the option of using a referral code in the end. Glad I've bought it though as it is the easiest (and best) money software I've used and saves faffing around with excel spreadsheets. Nice to be able to track all my various savings pots in one place, as I only actually have 1 savings account so was finding it hard to know how much money I had allocated for each 'pot'.

Christmas savings are building up now, and I have decided to try and save £2 a day from 1st Jan so by next Christmas, I will have £730 in savings to use on presents, food, petrol for visiting people and any xmas do's that come up. It's roughly £60 per month so I won't miss it as much if I just transfer it straight into my savings account on payday.

Food shopping arrived yesterday and my weekly meal plan is all written up onto my kitchen blackboard so looking forward to some yummy meals this week. Managed to get some cod fillet on offer (half price) so bought some as a treat and making fish pie for tea tonight. It was a huge piece too so I may keep a bit of the fish and fresh parsley back and cook some extra mash so I can have a go at a couple of fishcakes for the freezer. Assume I can just make and shape these and freeze as they are so they can just be defrosted and cooked at a later date? I don't tend to buy fresh fish very often as it's so expensive these days, but now I am weekly shopping, I am hoping to make use of any offers or YS deals I come accross.

Can't believe it's Monday again already!

Well this week has suddenly flown by.

I have managed to stick to the meal plan I wrote all week, apart from on Monday because DS was teething and too clingy to let me put him down long enough to cook. I did us beans on toast instead and have banked the meal to use on Monday this week. Will mean one less meal to think of on next weeks planner anyway.

Weekly shopping has worked out so much better to as I don't have tons of stuff in the fridge going off because I can't use it all. Did underestimate how much bread I would need though, so will buy an extra loaf for the freezer next on the next shop.

    Plans for today

NSD (I need bread at some point, but hoping hubby will pick some up after work) (Done)
Work from home, saving on petrol (Done)
Check online banking and update YNAB (Done)
Display new tax disc in car (Done)
One load of washing and possibly line dry if it's not raining again
All meals from menu planner. Making cottage pie tonight (Done)
Do some housework - will do the bedrooms I think and worry about the rest tomorrow
Find a DFW challenge I can join (determined to try at least one)

Think that will keep me busy on top of working at home.

  • Still haven't sorted the washing but it is raining so I will leave it until tomorrow monring now as it's supposed to be sunny tomorrow.

Have bedroom to sort too, but I will do that once I've put my son to bed later as it won't take more than 5 mins.

Wish the weather would make it's mind up, I hate all this chopping and changing
