DLA Renewal Question

How often do you have to renew your claim and do the DWP write to you to inform you to renew?

Thanks

    Hiya,

Our DLA claim for our daughter is renewed every three years. Somewhere on your paperwork it should tell you when yours is due for renewal. They normally send the renewal forms out about 5/6 months in advance, they did with us anyway. Hope this helps.

When you got your original award, it would say on the letter, when your entitlement would stop. They'll contact you before then as a reminder.

My son was first awarded for 1 year, then 3 years, then he got awarded for 10 years.

They should invite you to renew 6 moths before your claim runs out.

People get different lengths of award depending on circumstances but if you're not sure how long yours is for then a quick call to their helpline should tell you.

Your letter of entitlement will say when it is due to stop, they will usually send renewal forms out a several months in advance. Must point our however that sometimes reviews are called earlier, my Dad's was awarded 'for life' then had a review 2 years later, a friend who's child was awarded until their 18th birthday, was reviewed age 14.
One day I might be more organised...........
