UJM giving permission to access

I haven't given the JC permission to access my UJM, however I am registered and they can see this when they look.

I don't really want to give them permission but am finding that I am getting more and more hassle about it every time I go. I don't know what to say when they keep asking why I won't allow it.

I am worried about giving access as although I do look every day I am aware that things happen outside my control (me or my son could be ill, internet could be down for the day etc) and don't want an automatic sanction because I haven't logged on for a day.

What reason does everyone give for not allowing access?

Thanks

Sorry edited above to include this info. I also don't like the fact that I keep getting pressured to do so when I don't have to.

I do worry about sanctions etc probably more than the average person as I suffer from anxiety/depression. I get nervous and worry every time I have to go into the JC.

Why don't you turn it round? Ask the JC advisor on what authority are they relying when demanding that you allow them access to your account?

They will have to inform you of this. If you are entitled to restrict your account then they can be accused of bullying and intimidation. A strongly worded complaint letter should then follow.

This is just the same when claiming ESA or DLA/PIP, they 'suggest' that you are required to disclose who your GP is and are 'required' to give them your telephone number.
Neither is compulsory. It is your choice to supply more information than they actually are required to hold.
I had this with my ESA claim, the DWP, without my permission, wrote to my GP for a report. I never disclosed who my GP was, but that didn't stop them from digging through my previous welfare claims to see who it was back in 2004. They were lucky - I have had the same GP since 1989.
They gave me a !!!! & bull story about what they can do with info that I have previously disclosed. I complained about this and managed to get them to 'wipe' this information and other bits (telephone numbers etc) from the computer records. In future they are required to ask for permission from me.

Just tell them you do not consent because of personel security reasons. That is all i say. If they ask again just say that again.

Dont worry you will never have to give them access to your account because of european laws.

Dont let them bully you, and if they try then ask to speak to the manager.

You do not have to give a reason.

    You're correct.

But JSA claimants need to stay on the right side of advisers because they wield great power over them, and when the advisers are pressured by a superior to influence claimants to allow them access then many of them submit.

This is why I want to come up with a reason which doesn't annoy them. I feel really intimated by them, to be fair its not their fault I'm sure they don't treat me different to anyone else. Its me that has the problem but its not my fault either I don't want to feel like I do when I go, I do no its not rational, but I can't help it :(

They say they need access so they can send me the jobs I have to apply for. Does anyone know the procedure how they do this for someone who is not registered?

They are telling you lies. If they have a vacancy for you they can text or phone you up.

Do not ever give them access as it is just another sanction tool to be used against you.

You cannot be forced to tick the box and they know that.
Just be brave and tell them no.

You will have to be careful how you couch reasons for not allowing access to guard against an adviser taking personal umbrage.

Tell them you've been advised against doing so (which you have in this thread). Should they ask by whom, inform them that that's confidential or privileged information that you can't disclose.
