Credit Card Overseas Fees

Well, everyone can be happy in their own way. 0% is easily available instead of 2.99%.I'm not disappointed, indeed I'm still very pleased. Even with the 2.99% the exchange rate was excellent for most transactions.
Any proofs? According to the above links Travelex charge 0% (ignoring 2% top up fee)And for info I had the Travelex Cash Passport - which had a worse exchange rate than the credit card.0 -
we get charged around 3% for the privilege of using our credit card overseas.
It's just a service which you agreed to pay for. You don't have to use your card overseas. There is a real cost associated with international transactions, why shouldn't you pay? There is no question of the charge being unfair or unreasonable (at least in the regs that applied at the time).
As noted, some don't charge. So it is avoidable.0 -
"QUESTION? I intend to take this further with the credit card companies - I want my 3% back."
Good luck in wasting hours of your life going nowhere with that.0 -
It's . I think there are a few exceptions, perhaps RBS Group cards?
They used to charge twice but got rumbled and are now 'normal'around 3% for the privilege of using our credit card overseas. This is on top of the fee they charge the shop/restaurant and the % they skim off on the exchange rate deal.
The 3% IS the % they skim off the exchange rate, not on top of it. If you are going to have a whinge, at least make it factually correct0
