printer trouble

My 3 year old Epson printer/scanner has suddenly had difficulty in printing clearly from the computer. It still copies and scans, but I have tried to print letters from my two different computers and it misses out the tops of many of the lines. The nozzel checks are ok (although I must admit I do not use Epsom inks but have had no trouble with these in the past). The Windows XP printer test page was not good. I would be grateful for any advice before I just go out and buy a new printer.

If its missing lines across the top have you tried adjusting the margins in the office program you are using - seems odd its doing it on 2 different computers but may worth a try.

To be honest, 3 years is along time for most printers - have you considered an upgrade - it may be worth it if you have no luck fixing it?
  • Are you sure all the print nozzles are ok, sounds to me like the black is clogged, the pages you copied may well come out fine as being a photocopy, the machine may use the colour cartridges only, many printer will only use the black cartridge for actual text documents, a photocopy will not be recognized as a text document.
