When on UC, will current ESA/HB renewals be applied separately ?

If somebody gets housing benefits yearly, on a year by year basis, and needs to apply every year

and they get ESA on a 2 year basis (say the award is for 2 years).

Lets say they are now on Universal credit, (the person is now on Universal credit)

then from that point onwards, will they still be applying for 'ESA'individually -when their 2 year esa ends?

and will the still be applying for housing benefit individually ? (after the 1 year renewal ends)

will the ESA and HB be re-claimed individually? (as they have been doing before)

or it will be 'one big' UC Questionnaire ?

I know UC is a combination of ESA and HB (and others) -but just asking about when on UC, will they apply as a UC claim for ESA and HB ?

UC will only apply if you are on income related ESA for both WRAG or Support components. But it will only be called ESA if you are on Contributions type - however this is could be quite a while coming in as the computer system has failed to work and even the simple JSA cases that are being moved over to UC are facing delays. HB I cannot comment on, but I expect that you will find that whatever arrangement is currently in place will apply to the HB when it is put under UC for you. But do not expect it anytime soon.

so besically if UC is in place now,lets say.

and a ESA claim award is finishing, (1 year award say, in the support group),
then to reapply for the same award (as there has been no change in circumstances), do they complete the ESA Questionaire again ? (that they did when applying for ESA) - or as UC will be in place, it will be a new UC/ESA questionaire ?


and when you apply online every 4 weeks, then what kinds of questions are they? (or will they just ask what you receive, and gives you what you are entitled to?)
