The majority of companies have trackers these days which can pinpoint where the truck is, we can tell where ours are and have been, very accurately.
cross post with Iceweasel - think we must have the same background!
Yes, I was going to mention this in my post, also even if no tracker is fitted, the transport office will know the drivers routes, delivery time slots etc.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -
The truck wasn't speeding, so in the eyes of some he didn't do anything wrong.0

I can imagine that its hard to notice the odd prang in a HGV but I think this guy must of seen me, he caught me whilst i was on his front offside i then passed right in front of him (sideways) then continued spinning down his near side eventually ending up with rear of car resting on the barrier, as he drove off i noticed a red curtainsider trailer with no logo.
There where a few cars not far behind us, i just hope someone saw what he did and had the common sense to take his Reg.
I think the police are checking CCTV Thursday morning as they said they off shift for for next couple of days.
Thx for the input everyone0 -
Ouch, that sounds scary!
Technically, he could potentially still miss seeing you just about, but it doesn't sound like great driving on his behalf and the more places both of you connect, the more he should see you!
Good luck with the CCTV; unfortunately I think that most people are more likely to look at you and worry that you are OK rather than take his reg.
Hope you aren't feeling too shaken up today.0 -
Iirc you can only use the MIB if you have a reg number for the offending vehicle. Which in this case would mean you wouldn't need the MIB at all. Its obviously to stop people taking the p!ss, crashing into lamp posts then making up an offending uninsured car.0

Had a call from the police last night, I'm afraid they could not see the reg or any company name due to the heavy rain that morning, they did say" its clear that he was at fault", but I suppose that doesn't make any difference now.
Will have to give insurance a call this morning and update them, I'm currently off work and losing money, the car is a write off therfore the courtesy car from the repair shop will have to go back some time today. Just wondering what might happen now?0 -

The car needs to be back seven days after you receive payment.
You claim off your insurance and look for a new car.
I hope it was the rain and not the delay in downloading the footage that prevented the registration being read.0 -
Seriously, sounds like laziness to me...... They MUST have got him on more than one camera.
If it was foreign though, it can be a lot of hassle tracking them down, to some Police "not worth the effort, let the insurance deal with it". Not a slight against the Police, more against target driven policing implemented from above by people who don't do the damn job.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

How do you then prove it's the same vehicle?0 -
If they get the reg number from what common sense suggests is the same vehicle further down the road, they descend on it rapidly with the forensic gear, there will be some paint transfer surely?0
