As a high risk mother I clock up the hours at the hospital (as do my husband and mum who are often my driver as I don't drive) when I'm pregnant. In front of the hospital is a P&D which is something like £2 an hour up to a total of £8.
I bet you can't guess how much their fee for going over is?
£5! :rotfl:
We decided when we first noticed that the cheapest option was to not pay and deal with any tickets (stuck on your windscreen to pay at the booth) as they came up, which, four babies later, they never have anyway.

That seems an eminently sensible amount to charge you for overstaying, don't say where it is or some PPC will get onto them and then the charges will spiral. As I understand your post you pay £2 per hour and than it goes up to £8 max so you could pay £2 and get all day parking for the payment of an extra £5, worth paying really.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Aside from the fact that the OP never actually pays it...I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

We would pay it if they asked us to the booth is on the carpark, we're there so often that it would be difficult to come back having an outstanding charge. As we don't know how long we're going to be in for any time we go it's difficult to know what to pay and you could end up paying more than £8 by going in and out. Especially as I have an irritable uterus that means I could be in and out or in all night any time I visit.
I do have an objection to the cost of parking at hospitals though, people like me who can average 30 visits in 6 months at £240 when the reason I'm there so often is also the reason I can't work... but that's a whole other debate.0
