lloyds tsb website is down 05th august 2013 but they dont admit it

I have done internet banking for years and the lloyds website is normally ok .Over the last 2/ 3 days the site has been funny and today would not allow me to log in. I need to transfer money to my son who is buying a flat. So I rang and tried to arrange a phone transfer. First they said" not aware of any problems". 45 mns later they said they had such a long queue and could I ring again later... and when directly challenged, admitted they had a problem with the website.
plain appalling.
posting this to warn other souls who might be thinking they have been hacked.( will have to go to the bank now)

Important update - our service availability 05 Aug 13

We'll be carrying out some planned system work which means some services won't be available after 11pm Saturday 10 August through to the early morning of Sunday 11 August.

    During this period:

    - Internet Banking won't be available.
    - Telephone Banking will be operating a restricted service.

We're letting you know to help you manage your banking around the work.

Other services will continue as usual:

    - Your Debit and Credit Cards will continue to work as normal.
    - You'll still be able to withdraw cash at our ATMs.

We're sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

No problems today or for a long time for that matter. Compared to the system that I use at work Lloyds is extremely stable and reliable, and most of all fast!
  • many thanks.
I have never had any problems which is why I was so worried.
I still cannot log in and if they had been upfront about it I would not be so annoyed.
patience.. and thank you to the person who picked up the maintenance warning- it s obviously affecting some people now,,,

If you're logging in regularly you normally get advanced notice messages like the one above ahead of time.

Obviously if it's been a while, when you come to log in on a day that is affected you're not going to know.
  • finally managed to log in after midnight, website still playing up now.
    other websites ok!

At least all the planned maintenance is at a weekend, the site's been fine all week.

The only problem is that, though they kindly provide a box to tick to 'Delete this message', next time you log in it's still there!
