Credit rating and student overdraft

Hello all,

I'd really appreciate some feedback on this.

I have a student account with Halifax with an interest-free overdraft of £2500, almost all of which I have taken out and put into savings since 4 years ago to maximise its use - and I've just had the interest-free period extended as I started graduate studies.

However, after doing a credit check using one of the 30-day trials (thank you MSE for the tip!), it looks like this the only issue is affecting my credit score negatively.

So I wondered whether it would be desirable to cover that overdraft for now and after some time (if so, how long) do the same thing again in order to do away with the negative mark on my credit profile.

Thoughts, advice, comments, criticism very much welcome!

Many thanks in advance,
Louise
