Return to work credits esa ..

Ive put in my claim form for the £40 a week payment for finding work after being on esa..

I was wondering, i start work a few weeks ago (under 5 weeks ago), will they backdate my claim from the date i started work to nows date?

They phoned my employer today to clarify when i started working, how long until first payment goes in also..

And how frequent are payments? Every fortnight like normal payments?

  • Yes it will get back dated to the day you began work - I think a benefit week is Mon - Sun. I have no idea how often it is paid into your bank account. But it will always be in arrears. I guess you will find out in due course. JSA/ESA both every 14 days so I'd take a guess at that. Congratulations on getting a job BTW.

I get it weekly, and it took about 5 weeks for it to start being paid from me filling in the form.

    Congrats on your job :)

Where did you get the form from ? and what's the form called?

I thought BTWC was automaticaly assessed if you announce you have returned to work and close your claim.

Was lucky really, i only got told on the 4th week off me working, had a phone call and the woman from the place i used to go to told me about it. Had to go to job centre and pick up a return to work credits form. Theyre stoping it from 1st oct though!!
I thought it would be done automatically but nope.
