Virgin Media 'lied' about TiVo package

OK... So, I had TiVo installed last month, and when the guy came to install it, he told me I had the XL package and that I'll have all the channels throughout the 12 month contract.
Yesterday, Half of my channels disappeared and virgin media are now telling me that I never had XL and it's always been M+. Despite me being able to view them and the fact I've recorded a couple of movies from Sky Movies (Which I can no longer view).
I got BB first of all, then 2 weeks later decided to ask for the TiVo, they never mentioned what package it would be but they said it had 'a lot of channels including sky movies'.. Now.. Where does this leave me?
Obviously the 14 day cooling off period is over, and I feel like this isn't the service I was told I would receive.
I had a web chat with someone who told me I would have never have been able to view Sky Movies, Discovery HD or the other 30 HD channels, but I did!!!!... Basically I am a liar. I wouldn't reccomend VM and I'll be switching back to Freeview HD after this (same amount of channels!)
Any advice?

Calling people liars is a dangerous thing to do unless one can prove it irrefutably.
It can also get MSE sued for libel.

So you asked for TiVo and didn't specifically ask for an upgrade to your channel package ?
Did they specifically say "We will upgrade you to TV XL" or not ?.
The engineers aren't the font of all knowledge when it comes to information like that - i've had engineers in the past tell me i'm getting things i'm not.
Your only recourse is to ask Virgin if they have a recording of the call you made when you asked for TiVo.0
