got to stop working

Earnings from Foster caring are counted as nil earnings for WTC & Income Tax and you also get your NI contributions paid under the Home Responsibilities scheme. I don't know if it still applies, but you could have either Income Support or WTC, so it would be worth enquiring about that as with Income Support you get help with mortgage. Does your LA offer a retainer when you have no placements? Ours does but it's only for 10 weeks of the year.
If you did decide it would be best to stop work then you should be eligable for full WTC.0 -
Thanks iris, we currently get £185, so that could be worth looking into. We don't currently get any retainer, but could if we wanted to commit to remand beds. Don't know the ins and outs of this tho'. Are you a foster carer with NFA iris?
I'm finding it all really confusing at the minute. My head is spinning with the choices, or lack of them. :rotfl:I suppose we need to wait and talk to the nurse tomorrow and take it from there.
Why is life never simple?!?I love a bargain. Now mortgage and debt free. hurray!!:smileyhea0
