Hey everyone,
Happy new month of aprehension for you all !!!
This will probably split the camp but i was wondering about comping ethics or is it individual specific?
Do people go for as many comps as humanly possible to raise the chances of a win to do you only go for ones you want to win.
I see quite a lot of "i have won this BUT...." on IW IW IW where people in Devon winning comps for collection in a Glasgow store (as an example here).
With love for all your answers x

2015 Goals:
To be debt free which at the start of the year will be approx 10K. One holiday win and some cash to help along with the debt payments. Anything else will be a bonus that i can then pay it forward with.
Law of Attraction really works

I'd not enter for an event that I could not attend or a prize that I could not collect etc.
Other than that I have no ethics :-)
Baby comps, ladies comps, mens comps etc are all fair game so long as the prize was not too whacky as to be useless to me or as a gift.0 -
If I couldn't attend then I don't enter.
Likewise I only enter for things I could like or use, or could pass to friends/family...0 -
I only enter comps for things that I either want or that family/friends could make use of. For example, I live up in NE Scotland but I will enter comps for hotel stays/shopping trips etc in Newcastle as my brother and his g/f have season tickets for Newcastle United and travel down at least every other weekend. No use to me personally but would be great for them.
If ever the day comes that I feel I need to shout from the rooftops that I won a crappy fridge magnet, feel free to slap me silly

I never enter for tickets or events I wouldn't be able to attend. I even skip a lot of nice holiday comps because they seem to only be for two people and since I have a baby I figure it'd be stupid to enter them. I tend to only enter for things I really want because it's actually quite disappointing to receive a WEM for something that I don't want or wouldn't use (as in the case of competitions with runner-up prizes).

or letting a prize go to waste, which is my current peeve. my mum's mate won a fridge freezer, a great big posh thing. she already had a newish f/f which she bought specially as her kitchen is a weird shape. now the brand new f/f which she won is going rusty in her garden :mad:0

Stupid, surely she could have passed this on to somebody who could use this. It never ceases to amaze me how people can be so selfish. :mad:0 -

i said that too, and so did other people but apparently it's hers and she can 'do what she likes with it'. :mad:0 -
I don't enter unless I know I can attend, wouldn't like to prevent someone winning that could make use of it.0
-
annoyingly most tickets are non-transferable so people entering ticket comps just for the sake of entering really are spoiling it for people who could genuinely attend0
-
Was thinking the same, seem to be a lot of people entering and then they live too far to attend and it's frustrating if someone who does live closer could have really wanted to go.
I know some comps don't put the location but if I don't recognise an event, garden, hotel, restaurant etc I'll google it before entering to see where it is - otherwise someone who could make use could have won it instead! I also check dates if they are specific.
I do enter things outside of my area if I have friends/family in that area and visit it anyway.
I know we can all get caught out but I think some people just enter everything/anything even if it's not of any real use.0
