Bathroom Extractor Fan Help needed...

Hi Guys,

I am just researching bathroom fans for our new bathroom and am confused.

I was wondering if there was a website where I could buy components as none of the kits seem to have what I want which is:

In shower light and fan
Fan noise of 26db or less
Extra fan over the bath
Timer and maybe humidisat
backdraft shutter

anyone know?

thanks

Becky

This one may meet your requirements of an integrated light:

The fan is installed in-line so not as noisy as other fans.

    Alternatively, the VentAxia LuminAir:

    http://www.vent-axia.com/range/luminair-fan-light

Both are SELV which means they can be installed above the shower/bath.

You may struggle to find a single fan that meets all your requirements. For example, Airflow and VentAxia have models with built-in backdraft shutters but not with an intergrated light as far as I'm aware.

You can fit flap vents but they aren't as effective:

Why do you need two fans? Is the bath and shower in the same room, if so you could buy an inline fan to do the both of them put a Grill/difuser over the bath, and a combined light & grill in the Shower. you would be able to install a inline backdraft damper in the ducting. Then you could add single stand alone humidisat with override to control the lot. It would give you alot more freedom to chose your humidisat, grills and showerlight finish because you would not have to just go to one place to buy it all just mix and match

Have a look at Toolstation & Screwfix.

    http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Electrical/Fans/100mm%20Mixed%20Flow%20Inline%20Fan/d190/sd280/p80615

This fan can be purchased less than £50 if you look around :money:

Thanks guys and Madjay that is exactly what I want to do but am struggling to see a website that sells components.

    Thanks for the response guys.

Our bathroom is not big and so both grills (shower and bath) will be in a space of less than 5mtr squared. So total travel distance will be just over 3 mtrs. What fan would def clear at that distance?

I understand about retro fitting a back draft shutter so thats fine. Assuming I can find a fan that is both quiet and efficient I just need ducting, a y piece, a grill and an inline light - love the styling of the Greenwood airvac lights but no idea if I could buy the light separate. Any ideas?
