Big Six bullying tactics

Hi all

We recently switched to Good Energy from Southern Electric and about two weeks into the relationship with Good Energy they call me up and say that EON have written to them saying EON are taking over our electricity supply. They are doing no such thing.

Apparently this is a tactic used frequently by the Big Six to take business away from smaller suppliers who don't check with customers what the real deal is.

If this is true, (text removed by MSE Forum Team)? Is anything being done about it and does anyone else have any stories like this?

Thanks

    Hiya bottomsforever,

It sounds more to me like an erroneous transfer, this is when a customer decides to change supplier and they give or the gaining supplier takes the incorrect details.

If this is the case then your preferred supplier can take the supply back as if it never left.

It does happen unfortunately, especially if the meter details are incorrect on the national data base. But things can be put right.

Have you spoken to us to see how we came about taking the supply in error?

According to whom? It's quite a serious allegation, I'd be interested to see what evidence you have that this happens "frequently"
