Paying off Halifax Credit Card

I recently received a Halifax Clarity Credit Card which I used overseas on a recent trip for purchases and cash withdrawals.
I have signed up for Halifax online banking and can view my online statement. I'm not a Halifax customer (except for the CC).
I have tried 3 times to pay off my Halifax Credit Card from NatWest and all 3 times have failed and I'm not sure why.
The following is what I have tried:
Set up a standing order with the following details:
" Standing Order - To set up a standing order please contact the bank where your current account is held. You need to provide your bank with the following information:
Bank Sort Code 80-20-45
Bank Account no. 00213765
If your card number begins 525303 please use the following details:
Bank Sort Code 77-29-00
Bank Account no. 00000000
Your payment reference is your 16 digit card number."
The first payment attempt was rejected as follows:
FP REJECT 02/08/13, REJ CODE 1164
The subsequent 2 payment attempts had no code, just the money going out then coming back in (paid out, paid back in)
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong or why the payments are not reaching Halifax?

Did you actually use the payee account number of just one zero, as you typed, or did you use 000000 (eight zeros), which works for me from First Direct?0

I removed the Halifax payee and then configured it again and then transferred the payment. When I view the Halifax payee it has once again truncated the account number of 8 zero's to 1 zero, if I select to delete the payee it displays the account number as 8 zero's.
It looks like the payment might be successful from my NatWest account, haven't seen the money come back yet to the NW account and it's been a few hours. However, the Halifax CC account is still listing the full balance and no payments have reached the Halifax CC account. I thought they accepted faster payments :think:0 -
If the amount went by faster payment, this is what happens in my case.
The actual listing on the account does not show the payment until the next day. However, if I look at the amount of credit available, which is shown in a smaller font elsewhere on the statement, that figure increases by the amount of my FP which indicates it has been received.
I think the actual transaction listing may not be updated until midnight or perhaps 9am the following morning.0 -
Thanks virgo17, the payment has updated successfully now. Had to give it some time to update like you said.
I did see the available credit increase yesterday before the payment cleared and I realised that it was the same amount that I transferred. Was a bit confusing that the debt wasn't cleared but the credit was increased.0
