Ipad 4 to TV

Hi all,

Wondering if you could help - my bro-in-law has the ipad 4 and has just got BT sport - he'd like to connect this to his HDTV so that he and the family can watch it on there.

Is there a cable that does this, or does he need to get apple TV?

On a bit of research, it seems that there are cables for the ipad's 1,2&3 but maybe not the 4, or am I missing something???

Any help appreciated.

I'm not sure if there are 3rd party adapters, cant say I've seen many.

although the apple tv would work as well.

None of the 3rd party adapters with the lightning plug allow video playback so think you will need to get the apple one. You can pick up long HDMI cables quite cheaply on amazon & ebay. My 5m one was less than a fiver if I remember right.
