My friends PC Monitor fades really quickly so much so that even after altering the contrast/brilliance and colour and changing the setting through the PC, makes no difference at all. Eventually, you can't see the display and the monitor goes really bright.
She has installed a new monitor and exactly the same thing happens - so It's not the monitor!!
Any ideas as to what it could be? She has on board graphics.
Thanx for you help

Sounds like a possible faulty graphics card maybe?
Try it in safemode first see if the problem happens there. use the F8 key during boot to get the windows startup menu.
If that works then I would update the graphics drivers and see if it fixes the problem its free opposed to buying a new graphics card at the moment.
if that doesnt work see if the motherboard will take a graphics card, borrow one to test and see if it makes a difference. if it does then a new card it is.0
