I have 9 cats and pay £131/month to DirectLine for pet insurance - don't think you'll find £25 to cover all those. You might be able to insure 2 or 3 cats for that amount.

  • I have just insured our 13 week old Jack Russell pup for lifetime cover with PetPlan and it's £23 a month even at that young age.

I have 2 cats and pay £12. When I had my older cat (now PTS) once she reached 7years they only pay out 80% of the bill and once they reached 12years they only pay out 50% of the bill. Not sure if thats standard or not.

Not sure that is standard. Think some insurers are more fussy with older cats, but I'm with more than and they cover my 2 x 8yr olds and 1 x 9yr olds fully. I have seen some insurers that ask for a percentage of the vets costs with older pets.
