Npower - faulty meter HELP!

Options
Hi everyone, would like a bit of advice please!
I have been in my house for 3 years, been with Npower for about 2 years. The house had night storage heaters but have been taken away. Asked Npower if anything needed to be done, but they said everything was fine, we just have 2 meter readings. However, about 2 months ago, got a letter claiming that our meter IS faulty, and that someone would come to fit a single rate meter. Someone came on 11th July but was unable to fit it as he needed an extra part. Hadn't heard from them until this week - a letter claiming that I missed my appointment?!?! I called to clarify that this wasn't the case, and they said they were still waiting for the part. (The woman seemed to know nothing!)
Now, it is just me and my partner in the house - we both work all week and I don't consider us to be 'heavy users', yet my direct debit has just increased (again) to £100 pcm. Is this average??
Also, I just happened to check my online account, which states that I am nearly £500 in credit - so why has my direct debit increased?
Finally... and this is the most worrying bit.... My monthly KW usage has never been over 450kw (For day or night). According to my bill, Junes nightly usage was wait for it.... 85398kw!!! Will call tomorrow but am getting myself into a right tizz - predicted bill for this year is £4,978.41!!
Apologies for the mega post but am very worried and any help or advice will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance , Starbug86

It will likely be shown as faulty on theirs as the night rate would suddenly be stopped advancing. Its likely your internal wiring will also need changing if you have previously had 2 rate
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
