Beneficial Credit Card Customer Services are excellent!

I don't generally visit this section of MSE but I have to say that having now arranged three end to end balance transfers via Beneficial's call centre in India that the customer service I have received each time has been really excellent.

The person answering the call has in each case been able to
1) Make me smile within two sentences of the beginning of the conversation
2) absorb my enquiry in one listening
3) intelligently handle it, and then
4) obtain authorisation quickly to offer a good deal, and furthermore
5) volunteer to make a call back to me next week to confirm that the transactions are complete.

The call was very nicely structured with an informal introduction "My name is ....., how are you this morning Mr Baker?" and with a short informal parting dialogue about plans for the weekend, and a "speak to you next week then".

I know that many of us have been concerned about Customer Call Centres relocated to India, but some of them are very good indeed.

I do still worry a bit about so much personal data being processed outside the obvious jurisdiction of EU law (the lady I was speaking to was immediately able to see my online payments made during the call).

We should however note that some centres like this one in India are now setting the UK an example to UK of what high standards in Customer Service should feel like. I know this because I was trained years ago to provide exemplary customer service in financial services and that is actually what Beneficial have provided to me recently.
