Why not ask for free fuel too?

None of these things are *free*

When they are available they're just built into the price of the car, so that £9000 car with 4 years *interest free* is actually a £7K with £2000 of interest.

Also, free insurance costs money. As does tax.

Also, a £9000 loan is going to cost you approx £220 a month for four years.

My wifes aunt normally pays for her cars cash (shes a rich old biddy) but was going to take out a Toyota finance deal on her new car so she could avail of a £500 of *free* petrol deal that came with it.

I checked the finance for her and it turns out her £500 of *free* petrol was going to cost her £2500 in interest

Also, she was changing her 4 year old Yaris with 16,000 miles on it for a new one and was shelling out something like £8000 for the privilege.

Didnt take long to convince her just to hold on to her own....

i already have a car but insurance is going to cost about £600, + £250 tax + maybe £100-150 other stuff for the year.

I dont really drive much so that insurance is quite high still, also had it for a whiel and i wanted sumaat smaller and cheaper to run.

If the cost of the freebies is included in the overall cost i could find that out by doing a simple seaqrch of the RRP of the car.

ive never done finance on a car, yes im sure theres few hidden costs and "misleading wording", but if it does actually work out less than £200/m overall after all fess etc... then for me thats still better than what i have at the moment, i think

are you looking to lease a car or buy one?

if leasing a car then the rrp would be irrelevant, most leasing sites allow you to search for cars by price band so if you're looking for something sub £200pcm then you'd be looking at cars like Honda Jazz, Kia Picanto/Rio, Mazda 2, Skoda Citigo, ya know little cars. The lease usually includes road tax and can at an extra cost include maintenance. You would just have to insure it and add fuel.

if you're looking to buy a used car then I doubt any dealer will provide those within the cost, possibly not even in a new car either. Saying that, Peugeot does offer a deal called "just add fuel" where I think everything is included but that could be a lease rather than buy, not looked into the specifics of the deal but could be something to look into.
Roll on DFD, final payment 1st October 2017

Yeah it was a sarcastic comment as the OP seemed to expectations on lots of things being 'free'

Why not borrow money to buy a £4,000 car, then you'll have £5,000 left over to pay insurance, tax, fuel etc.? Plenty of reliable cars for this price, but why not push the boat out and join RAC/AA or something too for peace of mind? Plenty of repair bill can be paid with the money you save too.

How old and what is your current car?
How many miles a year do you do?
    What's your car requirements (small/5 door/estate/etc)?
