We have a complete blank canvas to decorate the day before our wedding, but we asked if family/bridal party would be able to help and now we have around 20 people on hand to get it all done the afternoon before. As a thank you we are cooking everyone a meal once all the hard work is done!Expecting Baby No 1 - 20/06/14 - Team Yellow!0

I've just sorted my cake out yay!! I'm having a dummy cake as we're having loads of food anyway so it would just go to waste. But a customer of mine makes cakes so I've asked her to decorate mine for me
for a 4 tier dummy cake which are 12,10,8,6, inches round 5 inches deep each of them £40 to decorate
Bargain!
Shughes - I've ordered off them the LED dance floor, LED Backdrop and photobooth

Sounds a great idea to get it done for you but make sure they listen to what you want. My decs got taken over by well meaning family and nothing was how i pictured it. |I wanted so many streamers it would look like a canopy but got voted down it would look tacky. I was lucky to get the few i was allowed. Someone grrrrrr decided to stick the mirrored initials i bought the wrong way round and in the middle tier of the front of the cake and never used the &. It was a pastel spots and stripes cake so i just wanted them on the top so it didn't look to busy. My husband just kept saying it looked nice. Friends and family can be great but i just felt if it pushed it i would get bridezilla comments.0

Mind you, I'm not sure that is really what we want.. We just want someone to stick a load a streamers, paper lanterns etc up for us. We already have ideas for the decorations, we really just want someone to do the leg work actually putting them up.
I thought it was a bit steep too maybe show it to your bride to be and she will change her mind about the two of you spending a couple of hours doing it yourself;)
I wasn't recommending them I was just saying this was what google brought up in a search based on the area:)0 -
i'd much rather do it myself to make sure it was perfect!!0

Just a warning to anyone considering using one of the suggested sites - A Little Bit of Bling - they are having 'issues' at the moment. How serious these issues are remains to be seen (I don't want to be seen to be calling them on this forum) but many people are cancelling bookings with them so take care.0

When do you get the use of the venue for decoration. Our weddings have always been friends and family helping out. We had 200 guests at each wedding and the cost was no more than £3000 in total, food dresses etc. this was all possible because people wanted to help. When people heard recently that our daughter was marrying the first response was congratulations then what do you need me to do. If you can have the venue say from Thursday evening you could get tons done with willing hands. Look on Pinterest for ideas. Also choose your volunteers for those who will work and if any have a good creative eye then involve them. Their enthusiasm will be wonderful.Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0
