Personally i'd ask my parents if i could not pay them anything for the next month, get what i need out of my wages and then pay back parents at small interest. Easier and cheaper than paying a bank off every month. When i had my CC i had £1700 on it, my monthly payment was £34, and only £11 was coming off the bill. Rip. Off.

If you can get a 0% credit card though (strange you can't get an overdraft) then get it on that and make sure you pay it off before interest kicks in.

No i didn't mean borrow off them, i meant if you're currently paying them to live there, ask if they'll waive your contribution for a month, and then when you've got the bits you need you can pay them back the money you would have contributed, if they're in a position to do this of course?

Also you may be able to use some of these lending comparison websites to see if you're elibigle for one, i don't think these credit check and you will be given an idea of who may lend to you. Don't just go applying randomly, once you've got a certain amount of checks on your credit file you will have to wait for 6 months or something before applying again.

No good applying for a 0% credit card with no credit history unless it was with your bank which knows your financial history of which they won't give you an overdraft so that's out of the question.

It sounds like you're very high risk at the moment which means only a few credit card companies may give you a card of which are Sub-Prime high interest credit builder cards like Vanquis or Cap1 classic.

You need to build up your credit worthiness before you start getting the best deals.
