2010 Ford Fiesta Zetec or 2012 Vauxhall Corsa SXI?
I'm looking to replace my old Peugeot 206 and have about £7500 to spend. I initially wanted a Ford Fiesta and yesterday saw a 2010 (10) 5 dr Fiesta Zetec with 30,000 miles for £7500 from a local dealer which seems like the going price for this type of car.
I then went to my local Vauxhall garage where they had a 2012 (62) 5 dr Corsa SXI with 13,000 miles for £7500 with 2 years left on the manufacturers warranty. At first this appears a much better deal then the Ford, however the Corsa is an ex-Eurocar which is slightly concerning.
Which one would be a better option? Should I be concerned about buying an ex-Eurocar?

I was in the same position as you, wanted a newer car for my daughter. Looked at a Fiesta but saw a 2012 Corsa 1.2 SE in a well known car supermarket. It was ex hire car the sales man made it quite clear. Since she was used to a corsa decided to go for it. Paid £7600 with a service no issues yet.0

Have you driven them? Which do you prefer?
What engine does each car have?
Edit: I'd be a little reluctant to by an ex-Eurocar myself but I have no experience of doing so.0 -
The Corsa is a 1.2 and the Fiesta is a 1.4. I took the Corsa out for a test drive yesterday and it felt fine but I only drove it around town; I'm not sure how well it would do on a motorway!
I've taken a different Fiesta on a test drive previously and was happy with it.
From first impressions I would be happy with either so trying to do some research on quality and reliability.0 -
The engine in the corsa has been around since 1998, it is ancient, slow, under powered with almost constant annoying eml faults and the fiesta is not much better to be honest with its electrical problems on the dash.
Save more, look for something a bit more up to dateBe happy...;)0 -

What would you recommend? I've got some flexibility with my budget but would only want to spend more if it means getting a much more reliable car.0 -

What is important ?
Reliability or style.
Running costs ?
For a not a lot more a Skoda city go 75 ps does up to 76 mpg on a run and 55 round town, , is tax free and performs almost identically 0-60 and top speed with a 1 litre engine as it is a modern designed engine as opposed to a re-heated clumsy 1998 block.
Thats the money saving option.Be happy...;)0 -
