This is a warning about a website offering gadgets for sales. I ordered 2 Egg cup and soldier toast cutters for my grandchildren for birthdays. I paid with my debit card and I didn't use PayPal as I couldn't remember my password. It wasn't a huge sum of money at about £10. However, after 2 weeks I emailed the company as to where my goods were. The monies had been deducted from my account. Despite phone calls to the listed number and having a woman slam the phone down several times and then having her deny that there was such a company and that I had called the wrong number and despite numerous emails to the email address no replies were forthcoming. I know £10 is not a lot but if this so called business was taking £50 on a daily basis that would be a cool £1500 monthly with no effort. The company is called Thingsonline. I have reported it to the HMRC and to Co House and to the Advertising Standards but haven't had much luck. I'm just posting this so others don't get caught out. It would be good if there was a body who could shut down these scam websites.

If they are not a limited company then Companies House cant and wont do anything

The Broadway
London
which is now owned by bensonelliot.com, so try contacting them to see if they are still in the centre0 -

Do a charge back on your card with your bank.
It might only be £10, but once their merchant service provider find out they might revoke their services which will stop them doing it to others if they are(temporarily at least).0 -
I misread the original post. Sorry all!Looksguywalker wrote: »They didn't use paypal.0
