Seperation and selling house?

You are probably better off finding an amicable solution, "forcing her" through the legal system would probably take a lot of time and money.
Since you say "separated" does this mean you were married,yes? Do you both agree to go ahead with divorce ( and would settle the financial aspects also when you so? )
If you are married with children, then if is person has the children living with them might also be able to stall sale of the marital home until they turn 18.
Have you tried the CAB? Or free half hr legal advice with a solicitor?
Are you in principle in agreement with each other regarding how the equity will be split, when the house sells? if not, have you had any mediation/counselling? (Much cheaper than going to court...)
If you pay for a formal solicitor's letter, perhaps your ex will take it quite seriously and will agree to put the house on the market.0
