Lloyds - PPI Missing Statements & Pol number

Hi all.
So I have a Lloyds TSB credit card, opened in 2004 and still active.
I opened the account when a student, but only have statements proving I paid PPI between Aug 2005-Jun 2007 (when the payments mysteriously stopped). I am sure I was paying PPI since opening the account as a student in 2004.
I do not have a policy number, but since the card is still active, I am sure I will be able to find out when it was opened, but will it be my word against theirs that I was paying PPI from the beginning?
Also, Martin says speak to them on the telephone if you can. Does anyone have experience of this?

You only need to prove payment if the bank doesnt have records. If neither side can show payments were made then you only get paid what can be proven.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Ah ok. So they probably won't have the statements that far back due to the six year thing then. dang.0

No, that may not be the case, sometimes records are kept longer - you can always send them an SAR and £10 to obtain all the records they hold.0

You don't need a PPI policy number, only the account number, ehich is the credit card or loan number.
Lloyds had records going back to 1999 when i complained about my credit card. My ex credit card....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

You only pay PPI on credit cards when there is an outstanding balance, so perhaps you started clearing the balance at that time.? They wouldn't have taken it off. In fact even if you make a claim for PPI and are successful, unless you request the PPI be cancelled, it is left on.0
