Suspicious emails from microsoft with green shield

Bit confused
I have got an email from microsoft account team to my hotmail email account it does have the geen shield motif next to it which is supposed to prove its safe so not sure what to think its saying, could it still be fake and if not what could have happened?
The email address quoted in the message out here from them which I haved xxx'd out here is not one I have seen before and its not mine

I didnt really want to change my password as I will find it hard to remember it again

It might be genuine or it might not - if you google a couple of lines of your email notification, the issue seems to crop up quite often. To be on the safe side it might be wise to change your password and other security info but not via the link provided.0 -
Thanks, I didnt click the link, why would it have and how could it have the safe green shield sign next to it though? its the same as other shields on the microsoft emailsThanx
