do solicitors take long??

going to find a solicitor on monday after sorting my house out and mortgage was wondering how long they take as ive never used one before.......

  • Some are quick but unfortunately the stereotype that they take ages is usually the case. Could you get a recommendation from anyone?

    Solicitors are part of the transaction. Your vendor is more likely to be a cause of frustration.

    vendors seem ace an old couple so basically just need sort a solicito out then hopefully it wont take long

    From seeing this and your other post you really need to read up on what is involved in buying a property. I think you need to adjust your expectations on how long it takes otherwise you are going to be disappointed

    Solicitors work on the instructions of and at the speed of their own client. Not the other way round.

    not sure I would agree, ours is frustrating us at present with how slow he's going - we've even started getting a bit pointed with him, the vendors is even worse.

    you will be amazed just how long everything takes. There will be a period of three to four weeks in which it feels like *nothing* is happening. And then all of a sudden you get called in to sign the papers to exchange and the end is in sight.

    I've used 4 solicitors in the past and every single one of them has been crap
