Some are quick but unfortunately the stereotype that they take ages is usually the case. Could you get a recommendation from anyone?0

Solicitors are part of the transaction. Your vendor is more likely to be a cause of frustration.0

vendors seem ace an old couple so basically just need sort a solicito out then hopefully it wont take long0

From seeing this and your other post you really need to read up on what is involved in buying a property. I think you need to adjust your expectations on how long it takes otherwise you are going to be disappointed0 -
OP, may I point out that you have not 'sorted out your mortgage', you've received an information pack. Do you have an AIP yet?0

not sure I would agree, ours is frustrating us at present with how slow he's going - we've even started getting a bit pointed with him, the vendors is even worse.0

you will be amazed just how long everything takes. There will be a period of three to four weeks in which it feels like *nothing* is happening. And then all of a sudden you get called in to sign the papers to exchange and the end is in sight.0

What happens if you need to give a months notice from where you are living now those?0

I've used 4 solicitors in the past and every single one of them has been crap0
