Please come for lunch, with a bit of FHB I'm sure we can make it stretch :) See you in 15 minutes?

Just popping into South Mimms services. ..need a wee!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Welcome to God's own county (with apologies to anyone from Yorkshire)...

No probs. We consider ourselves a country rather than a county. ;)

Zag has one? Not sure, maybe there already.

Very quiet in the SC house. Been over a week now with no kids and knowing none are likely to make more than a fleeting appearance for 6 weeks. :(

  • Don't fret silver - my parents are much older than you (20 years or so, I think - they're in the early to mid 60s) and haven't managed a quiet house yet. Their 3rd daughter still lives with them, in Kent, their second daughter lives half a mile away and appears at least twice-daily, to do her horses, and their son is about to come home from south Korea, where he's been teaching for the past 3 years. On Tuesday. So it's more madhouse than calm-dom. They probably would like a swap.

DD's gone back to her new house in North London. Starts 2nd year very soon.

Still trying to figure out what's next for DS as he's entering the second year of his GCSEs.

Since DD moved out the house seems slightly "haunted". I expect to hear someone moving about from room to room upstairs and it gets a bit eerie (and lonely) when I don't.

I think GDB's got one up at auld reekie. Probably second year now too IIRC.

This is exactly the Facebook thing we were talking about, people posting their blissful lives while the rest of us still get woken at ungodly hours on Sunday and then spend most of the day doing (helping with) homework and once that is finished the household tasks 'beckon' :( Oh for some peace and quiet.

    Been there, done it.

I once did the most amazing geography project on house prices. DS2 walked round St Albans on an official geography field trip. The field trip involved catagorising the streets and popping in to estate agents and picking up details of properties for sale. The data then had to be analysed and a report written. I got 90%.
