Load of over-privileged old bunkum :)

If the bloke wants an answer he should ask and accept an answer that's given.

    :)

And be grateful somebody knows the answer :)

I didn't know the answer....or rather I had a very good idea, as did everyone else, but saying it would have really got the barrister into trouble and I didn't have confirmation of it. ( he was at another court doing something which had over run thinking he could do two courts in one morning when one was a first listing but mine wasn't a late listing)

CDT is craft, design and technology. You may have called it woodwork and metalwork.

Cookery got renamed food technology at one point.

My woodwork teacher once said: "You be careful with that wood, boy. It doesn't grow on trees, you know."

I wasn't present at the time, but my BIL was, and he swears it's true.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

    :rotfl: was it a joke?

Our very late bathroom window, ( was meant to be fitted on 19th August, they are making it today) is being made out of oak, not some other hard wood. Not because we asked for oak....we're not fussed, we're painting all our windows and there Is some other hardwood we've been using for windows that is ok painted. But because they didn't order it in., I am meant to be grateful for the oak, because its better than I am paying for, I pointed out, I don't really care now but I would have been grateful for the oak on the 19th of August.

No, not a joke. Just what Private Eye would term a Colemanballs.

Is oak even any good if you are going to paint it? I had a lot of trouble with some old oak that had been painted and the grain all opened up. We could fill it, but the filling wouldn't stay in for long.

Big dog has to go to the vet today. I think we have entered phase 'beginning of the end'.

I have noticed for a while the odd scrape of the hind legs, indicative of a problem some big dogs get and that she has been tight in her shoulders, and she has been on some pain killers for this, but this morning she says the pain killers aren't enough, so we are off to see our nice vets to see if they can give us stronger pain killer or discuss non surgical options. Some of our dogs have responded quite well to physio for things like this so that's possibly an option, and I'm looking into heated beds which might help, but not sure.

(They have a heater on again at night now the dogs).

Once big dog goes we'll never have a big dog again and I have never been without one. Its a mixed feeling, because io love them very much, but they are very limiting in some ways, and about five times as expensive to live with as a normal dog. :(. They are magnificent and wonderful dogs. If we had children they are definitely dogs I would want.

Bet will probably say.....don't be silly, she has years in her.....

Big dog has some different pain killers, and diazepam. Hehehehehe. Not from me saying I wouldn't consider surgery in her ear shot of her I hasten to add. And another appointment for Monday. Typically she pretended it wasn't quite as bad while she was there. She was let of the lead in the vets garden, where she impressively tried to get into a guinea pig hutch. Student vet nurse said. ' ah, she likes guinea pigs' I said ' well, she's never had them, but she DID miss breakfast and she's not fussy....' Student vet nurse was not amused. Head vet (who had come out to say hello to me (dog dogs specialist and help ful for him to see big dog ) and the GP vet and I exchanged 'a look' and a repressed grin.

Very MSE, I'm told the re-sale market is buoyant.

Whenever DKs suggest we get a rabbit or Guniea Pig I always say the problem is the amount of preparation required is disproportionate for the amount of meat you get...I am not a pet person.
    I think....
