For anyone who can access it, House Hunters International now showing on Travel Channel. It's a US show that I watch when I'm there but didn't know it is shown here. It's a bit like Relocation x 3 when they go abroad, but to much more interesting places. This morning: Vietnam then Mexico.

a long way around from the M4 though. Brentford or Kew might work better.

i have just looked at street view of burlington avenue near kew gardens station and the parking is only restricted 10am - noon (obviously that was whenever the google camera car drove down the street so it is possible that the restrictions have been changed but a lot of the parking in the richmond upon thames borough is only restricted for a couple of hours in the morning so expect it is probably still the same).

kew gardens is on the district line and whilst it is a bit of a trek into central london it does have the advantage that you wouldn't need to change trains as the theatre will be walkable from either embankment or temple. i don't use the district line unless the overland is down so i can't remember how long it takes from kew to embankment but probably about 30 mins.

looked at a couple of streets near gunnersbury which would be a bit more convenient but they are restricted 9-6pm.

I agree that it's great if you can find somewhere to park on the street - very MSE. If you can't find a space on the street and don't mind paying a fiver for the station car park, there's a list here:

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Yesterday was the first real 'harvest mists', today was the first day we had condensation on a window.....

Nope, it's still summer. NOT autumn. Oh no, no, no!

It's absolutely beautiful here this morning. A crying shame to be cooped up, working (in just a minute!).

Bare in mind some car parks are full by the time the rush hour ends.

All stations, tube and rail, within the London travel zone, now accept Oyster cards.

At least this summer hasn't been like the last two GDb. That's got to help a little? Recharged the batteries a bit?

Lydia is saying a matinee....which suggests a weekend? If its a weekend it changes what I would do slightly.

I certainly wouldn't do a3 from where she is (I used to do these route a bit when I lived near her ).

Oh, how the British love to route plan :)

I work in a couple of places and the same happens in one of the towns in which I work. Very low unemployment, fantastic schools (no such thing as a bad one there) and yet still kids consider themselves to have no life prospects. The town is very affluent and the theory goes that it is harder to be part of an underclass and fit in there. Local authorities and schools have some great programmes. I'm not sure what I think, but I'm veering towards having to take responsibility for one's actions and making what you can out of life. That may be though just that I'm mirroring my own outlook onto them.

Well someone has to live in Artisan C and a couple of other areas....

I know some people who are very happy to use their race as a crutch for under acheivement whereas the reality is they have just as much opportunity and in some instances more than anyone of any other race but use it as an excuse for lack of ambition and laziness. They can't (don't want to) see that their close friends and relatives who are busy acheiving put a lie to race being the issue.
    I think....

Last day of school holidays here, still need to get youngest's shoes but he was completely freaked out when we tried before and refused to take his shoes off to try any on, so going to have to try again today at the little choice local shoe shop rather than Clarks. The advantage there is it is quieter, the disadvantage is the quality.

Shoe buying has always been difficult with him, he has a thing about changing footwear or being bare footed but this year, we appear to have gone back to the trauma of years ago when buying shoes. Even if we manage the shoes, the next challenge is going to be getting him to wear the new school uniform, he doesn't like new clothes either!

He had improved but this last 6 months has been spent regressing back to pre high school days and getting worse by the day as the end of school holiday has got closer.

Grrr, it's almost like we have gone back 10 years in his developement and therapies....most frustrating!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Still summer here but the heat from the sun feels different at this time of year.

Very handy having decent weather this summer as my lounge and dining room has been garden based for 4 months.:)

Today, the recovered sofas arrive...and will be far too nice to actually sit on....but I can stroke them periodically.
