Benfits calcualator

Hi all,

I have just been onto the .gov benefits calculator and I couldn't believe that I have been missing out on so much.

Has anybody had any experience with the calculator and can anbody testify as to it's accuracy? I don't want to apply and be knocked back, because in truth the extra income would make a massive difference to my family right now.

Thanks in advance.:o

the results can be very misleading, but without knowing your situation and current income, it would be impossible to tell you how accurate the results are.
    you could also try
https://www.entitledto.co.uk as it tends to be the most accurate and easy to understand

just put a claim in and they will tell you!

The entitledto one has proven to be quite accurate, as long as you have entered the correct details

Id be wary if you situation hadn't changed from last month - ie £28k and 1 child (partner not working) in a subsidised rental or home owner, as if this is correct I don't think other than child benefit you'd get anything.

Thats what I thought Princess. And I have to take into account extra pay I get for working away. But when I used my base income (just over 27000) the 2 calculators indicated I was elegible. How do I account for extra/ bonus payments? I am salary paid but my wage slips are never the same. If I use my p60 from last april it shows i was paid in excess of £30,000 but i wont see that much this year. Its confusing!

    Thankyou.

this will give you a rough idea but unless you have more than one child or your partner also works and you have childcare costs I don't think you will qualify for any child tax credits on that income
